Bang Stick

Gator season is upon us. We go to fill our first two tags Saturday. This bang stick use either .410 shells or .45 Long Colt. I'm going to use .410 slugs.

Remember pop them just behind the head not on top of the head. The thick skull protects their very small brain and even .44 magnum won't penetrate reliably. It also makes my job harder when the skulls are all cracked up.

Legacy_skull_inc_008

An Axis or Chital (Axis axis). They are native to India and live a jumpy life being preyed  upon by Tigers. Ranches is Florida and Texas maintain herds of them.
They are beautiful animals and some of the most flavorful venison you can eat.

Sika

Here is a Sika ( Cervus Nippon) I just finished. These cool deer are originally from Asia. Japan has a large population of these deer. In many ways the behave like American Elk. They even have ivories. These "teeth" are actually ivory are left over from their prehistoric evolution.

Twilight!

Oh, the Cullens may have trouble with these guys. I placed them next to the camouflaged Gator skull so you could get an idea of their size. Can anyone tell me the name of the animal these skulls came from? They still need to be cleaned and I'm told these guys are tough to clean well. Oh well they are going to look awesome when they are finished. Don't tell my wife I put them on the kitchen counter!!!

Camouflage Alligator

The latest offering from Legacy Skull Preservation Inc.
We will now be offering skulls dipped in a variety of camouflage and novelty patterns. The process is called water transfer printing. It is a very durable finish.
This patten is based on swamp vegetation and so seems a perfect match.
Please let me know what you think?
Thanks again
